Venue change for Pipex 2022

Pipex 2022 has changed location to a different venue. The show will now take place April 29-May 1 at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Portland Airport, 7900 NE 82nd Ave., in Portland, Oregon.

The Embassy Suites is located a half mile from the Portland Airport. The hotel offers a free airport shuttleUS Stamps and free daytime parking. All rooms are two-room suites and will be offered at the Pipex rate of $139 per night. A free breakfast is included with the rate.

The show originally was scheduled to be held at the Holiday Inn Portland Airport Hotel and Convention Center in Portland. The Pipex 2022 committee learned in December that this hotel had found serious structural problems that could not be repaired in time for the show.

In the Jan. 13 press release announcing the venue change, the committee said that rumors started circulating about Pipex 2022 canceling the live show and moving to a virtual event. The press release confirmed these rumors are false and said the committee looks forward to hosting all who attend the live show in its new venue.

Pipex is the annual exhibition of the Northwest Federation of Stamp Clubs and an American Philatelic Society World Series of Philately show.

The show will feature 240 exhibit frames, 40 dealers, a welcome pavilion, a youth area, collection evaluations and more. Show hours will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free

The Germany Philatelic Society, United States Stamp Society and the Pacific Northwest Postal History Society are among the groups and societies that will meet at Pipex 2022. The Northwest Federation of Stamp Clubs will conduct its annual general meeting at the show.

The multiframe grand award winner’s exhibit will be eligible to compete in the Champion of Champions competition at Great American Stamp Show 2022 Aug. 25-28 in Sacramento, Calif. The single-frame grand award winner’s exhibit will be eligible to compete in the APS single-frame Champion of Champions competition at the Chicagopex show in Chicago Nov. 18-20.
